Good late 18th Century Cuban mahogany Wheel Barometer; the well-proportioned case, with swan-neck pediment and cross-grained sides, ebony strung and inset with finely engraved silvered brass Fahrenheit thermometer and 8in. diameter barometer dial, signed by the maker.
A leading Italian immigrant Barometer-maker who worked from various addresses in Holborn from around 1785, and whose descendants continued the firm through into the 20th Century.
