Rare 8inch diameter Brass-cased Aneroid Barometer. Circa 1870.
Fine and unusually large 19th Century 8-inch [210 mm] diameter brass cased aneroid barometer, in essentially original condition. The engraved silvered brass dial, behind bevelled plate glass, with exposed movement, bearing twin curved thermometers - mercury Fahrenheit, and alcohol Réaumur/Centigrade. The case profile exaggeratedly dished.
