The BADA Standard

Why buy from a BADA Member?

The British Antique Dealers’ Association was founded in 1918 and has remained the leading association for the antiques, design, and fine art community for more than a century.

Our members are carefully vetted and elected for their wealth of experience, professional integrity, and the exceptional quality and craftsmanship of their stock.

Many BADA members are internationally recognised for their expertise and unparalleled knowledge in their chosen field of speciality.

Our members have played a key role in contributing to many of the world's leading museums, galleries and public collections.

The BADA Standard

Our members adhere to a code of conduct which is laid down in the association's Bye-laws.

After an election procedure, our dealers continue to have their membership reviewed and confirmed annually.

It is for this reason that a member of the public can have complete confidence when buying from, or selling to, a BADA member.

There are approximately three hundred galleries and shops worldwide who meet the very high standards that BADA demands.

Bada.org is a non-profit website, meaning buyers deal directly with our members without paying commission fees or hidden charges.

Every item on the website is eligible for a Certificate of BADA Provence, adding further assurance to the authenticity of your purchase. Click here for more information on Certificates of Provenance.

If there is a dispute between a BADA member and their customer, it can be taken to BADA's free Arbitration Service for a rapid resolution.
