Chinese Export Blue & White Porcelain Chamberstick.
Circa 1780.
The underglaze blue and white Chinese Export porcelain chamberstick has a handle in the form of a dragon, with its feet standing on the rim of the shaped circular base and its front legs supporting the central column which is moulded in the form of a bamboo cane, it head turned back. The bowl of the chamberstick painted with a scene of a Chinese house by a riverside in the centre with a wide border of flowers and butterflies surround.
Dimensions: 4 3/4 inches x 5 3/4 inches diameter.
Provenance: Matthew & Elizabeth Sharpe Antiques (old applied label).
Condition-good with two tiny frit chips to the rim invisibly repaired.
