Chinese mid 19th century large blue and white brush pot painted with two confronting dragons and the flaming pearl
Both dragons are running over a turbulent sea in a ruyi headed cloud atmosphere
Large brushpots as this is were not only to hold brushes but also favourite scrolls and scripts.
Brushpots were made for the scholar's table and were seen as items of significance, with Dargons on they were even more important
