A 16th century alabaster relief-carved panel, Malines (Mechelen), circa 1575.
Depicting Christ flanked by two angels holding some of the Arma Christi, or Instruments of The Passion, namely the Cross and Sponge, Christ holds the Reed Sceptre, a memento mori beneath His feet, within a reeded giltwood frame.
