A rare pair of carved oak portrait panels: Edward VI (1537-1553) and Lord Protector, Edward Seymour, 1st Duke of Somerset, (1500-1552), circa 1548.
Both facing sinister, the King wearing a plumed brimmed hat and high neck collared doublet, Seymour, again with hat, ruff and the Order of The Garter, each within a laurel-wreath tied roundel, dolphin upper spandrels and leaf-and-berry lower spandrels.
