Vintage Enamelled Salmon Brooch by Alabaster & Wilson.
A heavy quality and finely enamelled brooch in the form of a fresh-run salmon realistically detailed in blue, red, pink and white enamelling. This particular colouring characterises a salmon when they first enter a river from the sea in order to spawn.
The reverse is stamped 9ct for 9 carat gold together with silver marks. The brooch is signed with the initials A&W for Alabaster & Wilson, Birmingham based jewellers founded in 1887.
Measures 60mm in length x 12mm in height.
