Striking set of 6 VICTORIAN sterling sliver palm pattern teaspoons.
Maker: George Adams. London 1872.
The Palm pattern is a very rare mid-nineteenth century pattern which was first produced by Chawner & Co. and is in their pattern book. Although it is known that there are some palm pattern services in existence it would be very difficult indeed to built a service in this pattern today. This is partly due to the generous weight of the various items. But it is this generosity of silver and workmanship that makes this pattern so desirable.
The front of each stem is engraved with a contemporary initial while the reverse of the bowl is clearly marked with the hallmarks and the makers mark George Adams.
