Two very large and rare models of court ladies in Chinese porcelain from Fukien (blanc-de-Chine), standing on hexagonal bases, heads removable.

The only other known pair of these figures is at the Chinese Pavilion at Drottningholm, Sweden.

It is recorded that in the 1690’s Queen Hedrig Eleanora of Sweden purchased in Holland many of these and other figures in blanc-de-Chine for her apartments in Drottningholm, Karlberg and other palaces. Today they are still in the Swedish Royal Collection.

Circa 1690, Kangxi reign, Qing dynasty.
