Creamware Thin Man Toby Jug, Possibly Ralph Wood, Circa 1785-90.
Pearlware Pottery.
The very rare "Thin Man" toby is seated in an upright chair holding a pipe to his mouth with his right hand and with an orange jug in his left hand.
He is wearing a brown tricorn hat, jacket and breeches coloured in a running brown sponged blue and green glaze. The sides of the chair is unusually painted with brown landscape scenes.
Condition: Good with glaze flakes around handle and a Crack in handle. The pipe with an invisibly repaired crack to stem & bowl off/on. Mug off/on at fingers.
