A Thames Valley comb-back Windsor armchair.
Recently bought from a long standing collection, this top quality chair is in fruitwood with a well figured elm seat. It has a shaped crest rail and a Chippendale inspired fretted splat, cabriole front legs and H stretchers.
Lovely rich colour and patination. See Windsor Chairs by Michael Harding-Hill page 72 for a very similar example. It stands 40 inches high with a seat height of 18 inches and is 26 1/2 inches wide on the arms.
