Superb 17th Century Snuff Bottle in Boxwood, one side with Bishop and staff and baby Jesus? The other side with a Priest carrying a crucifix. The sides decorated with grapes and vines so possibly a ‘Monastery’ piece. The top unscrews to refill the body then the stopper can be used to tap out snuff onto the back of a hand. In remarkable condition for the age. Very tactile. 10 cm’s tall Circa 1620-40.
