Beautiful Charles II carved coconut Goblet.
Superb and Rare 17th Century Goblet of Coconut and Silver (to be tested) on a squat pedestal base. Of English or Anglo Dutch origin. Beautifully carved with stylised flowers and leaves. The rim with mounted and shaped rim with egg and dart chased etching. The squat circular foot with four shaped branches holding the Coconut like a hand, riveted through to hold it secure. Outstanding colour and patination. An important survivor possibly Sailor carved or brought back from voyage. The whole piece standing 11 cm’s tall and in fine original condition. Circa 1660-80.
