Dated: 1820 Staffordshire England

A rare and fine Obadiah Sherratt attributed bocage figure of a lion with a paw resting on a sphere. The oak leaf bocage points and the waisted shaped base give the "Sherratt" attribution. The figure is exceptionally modelled with good attention to detail and fine quality enameling.Several models were made of this figure and this example is one of the best, the base for the figure is a wonderful example of the potters art and defines the figure as "top draw".
