Antique English earthenware cradle dated 1847 and with the initials M:I in slip decoration.
Dated: 1847 England North country.
The pottery cradle is slab made and profusely decorated on the dark brown ground with dots, squiggles, the date 1847, and the initials M:I in a cream-colored slip. These charming pieces, often given as Christening gifts, survive to this day from their heartfelt intention within the family.
