A small Charles II oak coffer.

Dating to about 1680, this lovely little coffer is of simple unadorned form with double panelled front and back and single panelled sides.

The boarded top is held by its original hinges which have the unusual but useful feature of protruding at the back to support the lid in its open position.

Internally it has its original lidded till and it stands on good high legs. It has its original lockplate but is missing part if its hasp. Excellent colour and patination.

It measures 28 inches wide x 14 1/2 inches deep x 23 inches high.
