Shipping off the coast, unknown artist (c. 1800), follower of Willem Van de Velde.

This early nineteenth century drawing of ships off the coast is by an unknown artist, influenced by Dutch marine painter Willem Van de Velde. It is executed in pen and brown ink, with brown and grey wash on laid paper, watermarked with a partial Strasburg Lily.
