A fine set of twelve pistol handle table knives by the chief goldsmith to Queen Victoria ,Robert Garrard of London.Ten are made in 1842 and two in 1853 and they are identical bearing the same family crest.The blades are the original and they are struck Rossi of Norwich who was the retailer of the knives. They are excellent quality as one would expect from Robert Garrard and the blades are also(carbon steel will always have an amount of discolouration and pitting but it is cosmetic and will not affect use)stainless steel was invented in 1913.
