18th Century Fruitwood Ribbed Rolling Pin.

An unusual 18th century fruitwood rolling pin, having divided shallow ribs, possibly for rolling and decorating pastry. Oat rollers have much more defined ribs for crushing oats. We have not come across this type of rolling pin before and would welcome any suggestions. The whole has an excellent colour and patination.

English Circa 1760.
