19th Century Sailor's Scrimshaw Coconut Dipping Cup.

A sailor's bugbear coconut dipping cup, carved at one end depicting a face with hair, eyes, nose and moustache and having a small hole for a piece of cord to hang it by. The top has a raised vacant rope twist roundel and the base has a double incised line. The whole has a lovely rich dark colour and excellent patination.
