An exceptional 18th century cherry wood pedestal salt of circular form, having a protruding banded ornament, which is above a concave support resting on a gradual stepped base. The whole has a lovely rich shaded colour, as often found on 18th century items, with extremely fine patination. It has very minor restoration to a small chip on the base.
Provenance: Desborough Collection.
English Circa 1740.
