A good lignum vitae snuff pestle and mortar in heart wood of traditional design, having a turned base to the mortar. The shaped pestle has a knop end. These were held in the hand for grinding snuff. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.

English Circa 1800.


Pestle length: 4 in. (10 cm.) and Diameter 1 in. (2.5 cm.).
