19th Century Laburnum Wood Needle and Silken Thread Container.
A well constructed needle and silken thread case in laburnum wood, having a rounded fitted top, which when removed reveals a centre hollow spindle for needles, that acts as a support for a twin compartment reel for silk or cotton threads. The whole is supported by a concave turned support on a circular stepped footed base. It has an excellent rich dark colour and patination.
