An early 19th century drop weight mouse trap in oak, as illustrated in Pinto, page and plate 175. The oak superstructure houses a solid oak block, which is released by an arm with a string and wedge attached to a trigger when the mouse enters to feed, and therefore releasing the trigger. These items are quite rare these days and seldom appear on the market. The whole has a pleasing colour and patination.

English Circa 1820.
