19th Century Iron Banded Staved Child's Costrel.
A small and unusual staved oak child's costrel, having four riveted iron bands in the usual manner and fitted with an original folding iron handle. The bung hole has a ring handled metal capped tapered cork bung and is raised on a chamfered sided raised platform. The whole has an excellent rich colour and retains a good patination.
