Late 19th Century Miniature Birch Norwegian Oval Trinket Box.
A beautifully carved miniature oval trinket box in the manner of the larger versions, that were used for food or items of value. The fitted overhanging lid is carved with a flower head and has an open central handle, held in position by a vertical support to each end. The body, with bands of carved decoration, is raised on a shallow angled foot. The whole has an excellent medium honey colour and retains a patination.
