Victorian Beech Half Pint Dry Measure.

A Victorian beech pole lathe turned half pint shop keeper's or corn chandler's dry measure, having an integral open side handle and bands of incised line decoration. The side is stamped with a crown above V.R. 363, recorded as Buckinghamshire 1826-1880. The whole has excellent turning rings to the interior and the base and has a pale colour retaining a patination.
