19th Century Sycamore Lidded Tobacco Jar.
An imposing circular tobacco jar of most pleasing proportions, having a well turned fitted lid, with a knob handle, that has a stepped, rounded and protruding edge. The container, of cylindrical form, is raised on a shallow, stepped and vertical foot. It has a most excellent colour, as it has been well used, and a most attractive mottled patination.
Provenance: from a Welsh private collection.
English Circa 1840.
