Late 19th Century Swedish Boat Shaped Salting Trough.

A most pleasing lime wood salting trough, carved from a lime tree with the grain running lengthwise and following the shape of the branch, hence the most attractive proportions. It has carved initials on the exterior P.P.S. with an angled logo. The whole has a pleasing two tone colour and good patination.
