Early 19th Century Walnut Vesta Case.

A well turned early 19th century vesta case in the form of a reeded barrel, having a ring turned striker on the base. The barrel separates in two fitted sections, with the words 'Gun Powder' on its exterior. The interior certainly suggests it was used for that purpose. The whole has a medium colour and retains a patination.

English Circa 1820.
