A most useful early 20th century circular powerful magnifying glass stamped on the brass rim G Cussons Ltd. the technical works, Manchester, 3 Inch F Condenser No. 105-36.
George Cussons Ltd. 1908-2007, was based in Broughton, Salford, Greater Manchester and specialised in the development and manufacturing of teaching and research equipment for mechanical engineering students. From its beginnings in Manchester, where it was still located until 2007, it also developed a range of products for the automotive industry. Further development of the company came after it acquired the rights to products designed by Kempf and Remmers, specialists in marine related engineering.
