A small and unusual staved oak child's costrel, having four riveted iron bands in the usual manner and fitted with an original folding wire handle. The bung hole has a spiral tapered wooden bung and is raised on an angled and chamfered sided platform. The whole has an excellent rich colour and retains a good patination.
