An early 19th century rustic staved oak piggin, of which one stave forms a short handle, that differentiates it from a luggie, which has a taller handle. The body is bound in ash with an overlapping join, which holds the staves in position and makes it watertight. The base has been restored and the whole has a medium colour retaining a patination.

Scottish Circa 1820.
