An attractive mahogany Dutch church warden's pipe stand, having a circular base with a brass tray and moulded and ring turned decoration, with the unusual feature of having a fitted mahogany lined drawer with a small brass knob handle. The well turned central column, has a circular platform with three pierced holes below a graduated bobbin finial. These pipe stands were all made in separate sections and usually unscrew. This one however, has been fixed, probably because the wood screw has become unreliable. The whole has a pleasing rich colour and patination.
