A well used late 18th century sycamore broth or food bowl of pleasing proportions, having an incised interior rim and excellent pole lathe turnings. The exterior has two interesting flat spots, where the turner ran out of wood, which I always find interesting to imagine his reaction when he realised he had almost incorrectly measured the diameter of wood needed. The whole has a pleasing colour and good patination.
