An interesting fruitwood puzzle money box, consisting of six separate and interlocked pieces, having a money slot on the top. Although the pieces can be slightly moved, we have so far been unable to solve the puzzle to take them apart! The whole has a good rich colour and patination, and an ancient crack on its base.
Provenance: W.J. Shepherd Collection, label number 1260 on the base
English Circa 1840
