The massive beautiful bowl with unusual steep sides is painted all over in a rose canton famille rose design.
The outside has five large panels painted with garden and interior scenes peopled with men, women and children.
Each panel has a large gilt Greek-key border. The ground is decorated with leaves, flowers, butterflies and Taoist symbols.
The interior similarly decorated with four panels around the sides and one large one in the central well.
The rim decorated with a band of flowers and butterflies on a gilt ground.
