A good pair of mid 17th oak backstools with bobbin turned backs, legs and stretchers and with unusual curved crest rails. They have excellent colour and patination.

They have an interesting provenance having been bought in the 1960's from the renowned London dealer Ronald A Lee and subsequently bequeathed to a church in Derbyshire where they remained for many years.

Eventually the chairs had to be sold to fund urgent repairs to the church.

Dimensions

40 inches high and with seat height of 18.5 inches.
