A Rare 16th Century English Tudor Oak Coffer. Circa 1550.
This small Tudor oak chest has a great colour and patination.
The planked top with cleated ends which has a small slither repair in between the boards due to shrinkage, one hinge is original the other an old replacement.
The front carved with two wonderful portrait medallion roundels flanked by leaf and bud carving, the ends with original carrying handles, standing on original sledge feet supports. The interior fitted with two candle boxes.
Great proportions and colour.
