A very good quality and rare pair of 19th century Victorian Burr Walnut Revolving Book Tables of typical design.

Having superbly figured circular tops over revolving spindle galleried tiers, crossbanded throughout with thuya wood raised on elegant downswept legs.

This pair of book tables are of typical design for the middle to late 19th century.

Specifically designed to house a small selection of books in the revolving undertier for ease of access, they can often vary wildly in their quality of materials and construction.

These are exceptional in that respect with the use of the finest burr walnut veneers and also the thuya wood cross banded decoration making them really rather striking.

It is also rather unusual to find a pair of these and we think that they would of course now make the most perfect pair of occasional tables, lamp tables, wine tables or any other function which you put your mind to. They really are very elegant and beautiful indeed.

Circa 1870.
