Late 19th Century Kidney Shaped Desk.

A Fine Quality Late 19th Century Mahogany Kidney Shaped Desk, or Dressing Table, Having Attractive Replacement Tooled Leather Inset Top Over Nine Drawers With Original Brass Handles, Boasting Attractive Inlaid And Banded Decoration Throughout, Raised On Elegant Square Tapering Legs And Original Castors.

A fabulously elegant desk, which could also of course be used as a lovely dressing table, which would add elegance, class and sophistication to any room of ones choice. It is constructed from excellent quality mahogany timbers and the drawers are also lined with mahogany which is always a good sign of great quality construction and results in the drawers still opening and closing extremely smoothly.

These kidney shaped desks are always extremely popular articles, mainly down to the fact they are just as at home in the corner of a room, or against a wall, as they are stood centrally in the middle of a room. The variety of functions and rooms they can be used in and for also adds greatly to the appeal of course.

This desk has an exceptional quality, high grade replacement leather which has elegant tooled decoration and really finishes the piece off nicely. Both the brass handles and the castors are of course original.

As with all items which we offer for sale this 19th century desk has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish to ensure it is in absolutely the best possible condition and ready for immediate placement within the home before being offered for sale.
