Pair of large English Prattware pottery wall pockets, circa 1810. The cornucopia shaped wall pockets, moulded with Cupid with a quiver of arrows suspended from swags of flowers in high relief, on a wrythen ground. On one pocket, Cupid drinks from a large bottle, whilst he holds an urn aloft on the other. The rims with bands of stylised acanthus leaves.
Coloured in vivid Pratt type enamel, and painted with underglaze blue flowers.
Both wall pockets pierced for suspension.
Height – 30 cm, 11 3/4”.
Width – 15.5 cm, 6 1/8”.
Depth – 8 cm, 3 1/8”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
