I am really delighted to offer for sale is this elegant pair of Dorrie Nossiter earrings.  Each earring is set with two moonstones and, in gold, Nossiter’s classic vine leaf motif.

Arts and crafts earrings are rare generally, and long drop earrings like these even rarer.  These are an exceptionally good pair with the moonstones having a good blue/white lively colour.  The earrings are typically unmarked and are in excellent condition. I am grateful to the website owner at www.dorrienossiter.co,uk for his research into these earrings.

Dorrie Nossiter was born in 1893, trained at the Birmingham School of Art and ran her own jewellery shop and workshop in London from c 1930-1960’s. She was part of that later group of arts and crafts women jewellers that included Sibyl Dunlop, Amy Sandheim and Frances Harling (Amy’s sister), and also Bernard Instone (not a woman!).
