This Meissen Porcelain Pigeon was first created in 1745 by Johann Joachim Kändler (1706–1775).  Although it is recorded with various titles, from “Drummer Pigeon” to “Turtle Pigeon” (dove), it is however most likely to be the Saxon Fairy Swallow Pigeon.

Circa 1860.

22.5cm tall, 30.5cm wide.
