A fine Meissen porcelain cream jug and cover, c. 1870. Modelled in Marcollini Period style, with heavily moulded and gilded wreath panels, containing painted panels of flowers, on a pink ground. The rim moulded with a continuous frieze of Mythical beasts, and scrollwork, with a further gilt wreath beneath the spout. Having an angled handle, heightened with gilding.
The cover, moulded with gilt wreath, and surmounted by a gilt twin headed finial.
Crossed swords mark in underglaze blue to the base.
Height - 12.5 cm, 4 7/8”.
Condition - Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
