This charger is one of the largest delftware tableware pieces made. It is well painted in blue with a bird in flight above another perched on the branch of a prunus tree. A flowering peony sits amongst rockwork in the chinoiserie fashion.The rim features ruyi lapets within a trellis border.The charger is 21 inches diameter, and the images show it standing against a 13-inch charger as a guage to size.This very rare impressive piece was made in the mid 18th century England.
