Magnificent Elizabethan Oak Draw-Leaf Table. Cranbourne Hall, Windsor Forest. Circa 1570.
This magnificent Elizabethan table is in remarkably original condition. It has a thick top and leaves extending when open to 115” and 61” when closed. It stands on four extremely large gadrooned bulbous legs united by stretchers. The friezes are carved with ribbed detail centred by foliate tablets. A paper label to the underside of the top describes , by direction of E.S Wade Esq, Cranbourne Hall, Windsor Forest / Dining Room.
A wonderful example with excellent colour and patination.
