Late Elizabethan Oak Table Lectern.

Dating to about 1600, this charming little table standing lectern or book rest has a single board slope of steep proportions above a single narrow board to the front with its original lock plate.

The sides and back are panelled and it stands on channel moulded legs. The lid is held by what appear to be original hinges although they have been slightly moved and it has lost its hasp.

It has lovely rich dark patination and is from the same private collection as the aumbry. It measures 19 1/2 inches wide x 12 inches deep and stands 16 inches high.
