A large late 18th century primitive stool.

This charming piece of vernacular furniture of pegged construction probably dates to about 1800 and has great character. It has an oval one piece inch and a half thick top pierced with a carrying handle with ash legs with chamfered edges and with H stretchers in pine.

The patination throughout is outstanding. It stands 20 1/2 inches high and the top is 19 inches x 12 inches.
